Why customer service roles test typing
Chat and email advisors often handle several conversations at once. Typing quickly matters, but so does accuracy — an order number or date typed wrongly can send a customer the wrong information.
What's in this test
Scenarios include dispatch queries, refunds, damaged items, account changes and billing errors, with order references and times to type accurately. The Typing Gauge practice target is 45 WPM at 97% accuracy, reflecting how much accuracy matters in written customer communication.
Coming later
This MVP measures objective typing metrics on prepared responses. Future versions may also assess original written replies.
Frequently asked questions
- Do I write my own replies?
- Not in this version. You type a prepared response so results can be measured objectively and compared fairly.
- Why is the accuracy target higher here?
- Customers see every mistake. Small errors in references, dates or amounts can cause confusion, so accuracy is weighted as heavily as speed.
